Originally from Zimbabwe, he built a distinguished career in South Africa, gaining experience under top trainers before establishing Crawford Racing. Renowned for his methodical approach and professionalism, he has trained numerous top-class thoroughbreds. He is now embarking on a significant new role, joining the Hong Kong Jockey Club for the 2025-26 season, marking a new international chapter in his extensive career. His son, James, will continue the South African operations.
