It has broadened its offerings, which include user-generated content that spans comics, games and memes. Bilibili notably pioneered “bullet comments”, user comments that scroll directly over videos. Bilibili also publishes video games, but mainly for titles developed by other companies. The company is backed by Tencent as well as Alibaba, which owns the South China Morning Post.
