Benno Yung Tin-pang
Benno Yung Tin-pang is concluding a distinguished 12-year career as a horse trainer, having reached the compulsory retirement age. He began his journey in the Hong Kong racing industry as an apprentice jockey in 1978, later serving as an assistant trainer, notably under John Size, before gaining his own licence in 2013. Yung achieved 37 wins in his inaugural season and a personal best of 39 victories in 2021-22, accumulating 358 successes in total. Known as "Dr Yung" for his patient approach and ability to rehabilitate horses, he recently made an inspirational return to training after battling acute myeloid leukaemia.
