Apple Daily

Apple Daily
Apple Daily was a Hong Kong-based Chinese-language newspaper, founded by Jimmy Lai in 1995. Operating in the media industry, it was known for its tabloid format, mixing news, celebrity gossip, and investigative journalism. Primarily serving the Hong Kong public, it gained a wide circulation and was a leading news source, notably for its strong pro-democracy and anti-Beijing editorial stance. Headquartered in Tseung Kwan O, its overall business focus was on providing a critical voice and acting as a watchdog. The paper ceased publication in June 2021 due to asset freezes and arrests under the national security law.
