Coleman Wong’s history-making run in an ATP event came to an end in Mexico on Friday when he lost in the semi-final of the Mifel Open to France’s Arthur Gea.
Wong, who was playing in his first ATP semi-final, lost 7-6, 6-3 in Los Cabos.
Gea needed six chances to close out the first set, winning the tiebreak 9-7.
The Frenchman had led 5-4 in the set when Wong saved two set points, and squandered another four set points in the tiebreaker before finally prevailing.
