Bloomberg Hong Kong Scottish will be seeking to get 2015 off in the same fashion as they ended the first half of the HKRFU Premiership in December – with a solid win.

"This weekend is always a key fixture in the season as many promising seasons have fallen by the wayside in this first match back," said Dave Whiteford, Hong Kong Scottish general manager.

And he is not taking Borrelli Walsh USRC Tigers for granted despite their winless run that stretches back one-and-a-half seasons to 2012.

"In previous seasons we have been the team trying to steal a win in this fixture over a high-flying side and we now find ourselves in the strange position of being there to be fired at. We are not getting ahead of ourselves though," Whiteford said.

"Tigers are edging closer to knocking someone over and I'm sure they will look at this as the one they can target. We got a fright against them last time and were outplayed for about 60 minutes of the game."

But Tigers' impressive new centre Tyler Spitz has a respiratory infection while Vern Parkes is still serving a suspension. Also out with injuries are wingers Chester Mbekla and Eric Kwok, Brendan Ireland, fly-half Liam Gallaher and scrum-half Gary Wong.
