China’s Xu Mengtao, Li Tianma, Qi Guangpu win team title at FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup

The win by a team of two reigning Olympic champions and two World Cup winners comes a day after Chinese 1-2 finishes in the individual events

China, with a team made up of two reigning Olympic champions and two skiers who had already won individual titles at the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup at Beidahu Ski Resort, comfortably won the mixed aerials team event on Monday.

Knowing his score was a good one, 2022 Beijing Olympic Aerials champion Qi Guangpu, who was the third jumper, gestured for his teammates to start ringing in the cheers as soon as he landed.

Qi’s score of 123.53 helped the team leapfrog the United States trio, lifting them to the top of the podium with a combined score of 345.26 points.

Earlier, reigning women’s Olympic champion Xu Mengtao failed to score as well as she did to win the women’s aerials title the day before, but still garnered a creditable 99.16.

New World Cup aerials champion Li Tianma, however, landed his back full-double-full-full for 122.57 points.

The American team of Karenna Elliott, Quinn Dehlinger and Christopher Lillis combined for a total of 317.05 points and second place.
