ONE Championship weigh-in and hydration test results: Rodtang breathes sigh of relief, Buntan and Martin miss marks
- Opponents Jackie Buntan and Diandra Martin were the only fighters to miss their marks for Friday’s ONE Fight Night 10 card in Denver
- All three title fights atop the bill are official, including an MMA trilogy bout between champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger Adriano Moraes
Jackie Buntan and Diandra Martin were the only two fighters to miss their marks at Thursday’s ONE Championship Fight Night 10 pre-fight weigh-in and hydration tests, while Rodtang Jitmuangnon breathed a sigh of relief on the scale.
The good news is that the two Muay Thai fighters are scheduled to meet each other at the Friday card, which means they should have no difficulty negotiating a catchweight contest once they pass their hydration tests, and their bout will most likely proceed.
All three title fights atop the card in Denver, Colorado – which will mark ONE’s American debut – are official.
The event will be headlined by a flyweight MMA title fight, with champion Demetrious Johnson defending his belt against Adriano Moraes. It will be the pair’s third meeting after a knockout win apiece in their first two fights.
The co-headlining attraction will see flyweight Muay Thai champion Rodtang attempt to defend his title against former WBC champion Edgar Tabares. Some expected Rodtang to struggle on the scale, but the champion passed hydration and made weight on his first try.
Flyweight submission grappling champion Mikey Musumeci will also be in action on the card, defending his belt against decorated no-gi medallist Osamah Almarwai.
Earlier on the bill, atomweight MMA contenders Stamp Fairtex and Alyse Anderson will collide, with an interim title fight against Ham Seo-hee on the line.
Former UFC star Sage Northcutt will also return to action at the event, taking on streaking finisher Ahmed Mujtaba in a lightweight MMA clash, while stars like Aung La N Sang, Reinier de Ridder and Roberto Soldic are also set to compete.
