ONE Championship: Demetrious Johnson returns to training with Henry Cejudo ahead of Adriano Moraes trilogy
- Flyweight MMA champ Johnson will look to settle a 1-1 tie with Moraes at ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 in Denver
- American has fought Cejudo twice, but has once again sought his former two-time foe out for training help
ONE Championship flyweight MMA king Demetrious Johnson is back to training with his two-time opponent Henry Cejudo.
Johnson, 36, is set to defend his belt against Brazil’s Adriano Moraes in the main event of ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 in Denver, Colorado – the promotion’s first event on US soil.
It will be his third fight with Brazilian after they scored a win apiece in their first two fights, and he evidently sees his former foe Cejudo as a valuable training partner as he prepares for the challenge.
The flyweight champion revealed his latest visit to Fight Ready, Cejudo’s training home in Arizona, on Instagram on Monday.
“Back at it again!” he wrote in the caption for his post.
Johnson (20-4-1), widely considered one of the best fighters of all time, first met Moraes at in 2021, when he challenged the Brazilian for the flyweight belt. He ultimately found himself on the wrong end of one of the year’s biggest upset – the product of a second-round knee knockout.
The pair then met again late last year, with Moraes’ title once again on the line. The second time around, Johnson evened the score with a KO of his own – also due to a knee – to become ONE’s flyweight MMA champion.
