ONE Championship: Demetrious Johnson shares footage from ‘solid two weeks’ of training with UFC’s Henry Cejudo
- Johnson and Cejudo met twice in the UFC, winning a fight apiece by first-round TKO and split decision respectively
- Johnson will battle Adriano Moraes for ONE flyweight title on August 27 in Singapore, and sought out his former foe for help
ONE Championship’s Demetrious Johnson has wrapped up his training with Henry Cejudo, and from the looks of it, it was a fruitful experience for both fighters.
The two Americans, both former UFC flyweight champions, met twice in the promotion’s Octagon. But as Johnson prepares for a high-stakes ONE flyweight title fight with Adriano Moraes, he sought out his two-time foe at the Fight Ready gym in Arizona for help.
And as many fans hoped, he capped off his time with Cejudo by sharing some footage of their training sessions on Instagram.
“Solid two weeks at Fight Ready with Henry Cejudo,” Johnson, 35, wrote in the caption for his post. “Thanks to all the staff and athletes there for being kind and fun to train with!”
Cejudo, also 35, shared some footage of his training with Johnson on his social media accounts too, repeatedly referring to himself and his former opponent as “superpowers” of the sport.
In one clip, he taught Johnson how to execute a trip he used in their second fight.
Johnson (23-4-1) will challenge Moraes (20-3) for flyweight gold in the main event of ONE 161 on August 27 in Singapore, which will air on Prime Video on the evening on August 26 in US prime time.
