Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor could be back in the Octagon sooner rather than later.

The 33-year-old has not fought since July, when he suffered a broken fibula in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier – his second setback in a row against the American.

From the get-go, it was clear “The Notorious” (22-6) would have a long road back to action, but from the sounds of it, he is recovering well.

Interacting with his fans on Twitter on Saturday, the Irish superstar provided a handful of updates on his recovery, and even shared a rough time frame for his return to the Octagon.

“The fibula is fully healed,” McGregor wrote. “The medial side of the tibia is developing nice callous also.

“It is just patience now for it to form down through the bone to the lateral side of the tibia where the larger break occurred. It’s getting there. Patience will win this race for me!”
