UFC 263: Brandon Moreno’s star could be born as ‘The Assassin Baby’ gets Nate Diaz seal of approval
- ‘The Assassin Baby’ looks to become first Mexico-born UFC champ in rematch with Deiveson Figueiredo
- ‘You win this fight and you’re gonna blow up,’ says UFC president Dana White, as Diaz and fans show him some love
A star may have been born at Thursday’s UFC 263 pre-fight press conference – if it wasn’t, then Brandon Moreno could be well on his way with a win on Saturday night.
The Mexican sensation received the Nate Diaz seal of approval via fist-bump after plenty of positive fan reactions upon his arrival at the Arizona Federal Theater.
Moreno (18-5-2) has always been a widely likeable individual not only for his abilities in the cage but his personality outside it. On stage alongside some of the UFC’s biggest stars, however, no one could have predicted the way “The Assassin Baby” stood out.
Following up on his fight of 2020 contender with champion Deiveson Figueiredo, Moreno will once again look to capture gold – just this time there’s some added intensity to the flyweight tilt.
The fans were already fully behind Moreno and the Brazilian did himself no favours by seemingly turning heel, as they say in the pro wrestling world.
Figueiredo (20-1-1) predicted a first-round knockout of the Mexican and claimed he talks too much. When face to face, the champion went as far as to shove the challenger.
