For Jorge Masvidal? Not so much.

“We got this little street thug calling himself Jesus, he thinks he’s Jesus,” Usman told Joe Rogan backstage after his win in Saturday night’s main event at the Apex facility in Las Vegas.

“Joe, we tried to make that fight several times, but he kept backing out. The only reason this man took the fight was because it was on six days’ notice and he had a built-in excuse, and he’s still running his mouth talking about he broke my nose.”

“The Nigerian Nightmare” (18-1) beat “Gamebred” (35-14) by unanimous decision on Fight Island last July, on a pay-per-view that brought in 1.3 million buys. Usman recently said he broke his nose two weeks before the fight.

Masvidal was a stand-in for “Durinho” Burns (19-4), who tested positive for Covid-19 before he could get onto the UFC’s chartered flight to Abu Dhabi.
