Khabib Nurmagomedov would definitely come out of retirement to fight Georges St-Pierre, according to his manager Ali Abdelaziz – but not for a rematch with Conor McGregor.

UFC lightweight champ Nurmagomedov (29-0) has not been officially stripped of his belt, and still remains top of the promotion’s pound-for-pound rankings.

The 32-year-old Dagestan native shocked the MMA world by announcing he was hanging up his gloves after defending his title against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 on Fight Island in October. He revealed he had promised his mother it would be his last fight, after the death of his father and coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov at 57 in July.

“Khabib still trains every day, he spars, he grapples, he does everything. He trains probably more than a lot of professional fighters,” Abdelaziz told TMZ Sports however.

“I have to respect him, I have to respect his wishes. He accomplished everything you need to accomplish in this sport. Beating Conor McGregor [again], does it mean anything? I don’t know. It means a lot for the fans. Financially it’s a huge fight. But you know Khabib, it’s hard to persuade him financially.”
