UFC: Darren Till predicts Conor McGregor first-round TKO of Donald Cerrone, explains dangers of fighting southpaws
- Till dissects McGregor’s fight style and hints that Cerrone will be overawed by the occasion
- ‘The Gorilla’ regrets not taking his own advice during loss to Masvidal in March last year – ‘he done me fair and good’
UFC welterweight Darren Till made a bold prediction for the upcoming Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone fight at UFC 246 on January 18.
“The Gorilla” (professional record 18-2-1) showed support for Irishman McGregor in a lengthy Twitter post about the fight.
“I cannot [expletive] wait for Conor vs Cowboy next week. Feels like the old Conor is back … I’ve got Conor [first] round TKO, feel like the occasion may just be too much for Cowboy,” the 27-year-old Till said, adding that it is only his opinion and acknowledging Cerrone’s unmatched experience in combat sports.
McGregor (21-4) has not fought since his title fight loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018. Cerrone (36-13), meanwhile, is on a two-fight losing streak having faced contenders Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson last year.
Fellow southpaw fighter Till broke down the pair’s most significant traits and sent a warning to Cerrone to not simply focus on McGregor’s laser-left hand.
“Both are right up for this. Cowboy’s camp have more to be concerned with than just Conor’s left hand, though,” Till said, adding that he wished he took his own advice against his unsuccessful fight against Jorge Masvidal in March last year.
