ONE Championship: Hall of Fame looms for legendary ‘Burmese Python’ Aung La N Sang
The 40-year-old learned the news after winning his final fight at ONE Fight Night 36, but there could be a new challenge to come

Aung La N Sang has seen enough heartbreak in MMA to know the sport rarely hands out happy endings.
But at ONE Fight Night 36, the “Burmese Python” walked away with one of the most cinematic exits in recent memory.
The 40-year-old former two-division king stopped ex-welterweight champion Zebaztian Kadestam in the second round of their middleweight clash at Lumpinee Stadium, before learning he would be inducted into the ONE Championship Hall of Fame at ONE 173 in Tokyo on November 16.
“You couldn’t write a better ending than this,” he told the Post moments after the fight. “Walking out with a rock star singing my song, a stadium full of Burmese fans – you can’t ask for more.”
That rock star was Lay Phyu. As the Burmese legend performed “Amae Like Akah” live behind him, the sold-out arena rose to its feet, singing in unison. It was less a walkout than a national anthem breaking loose.
Many long-time observers called it one of the greatest entrances in ONE history.
