Hong Kong to field strongest team for ‘hardest of the season’ UCI Track World Cup
Head coach Herve Dagorne says competition is getting tougher, while Ceci Lee and men’s pursuit team hope to better their Perth leg results

Hong Kong will field their strongest squad at the 2026 UCI Track World Cup at home next month, in an event head coach Herve Dagorne has billed the “hardest of the season”.
Before that event, which takes place at the Hong Kong Velodrome in Tseung Kwan O from April 17 to 19, the team are targeting 10 medals at the Asian Track Cycling Championships later this month as they build up to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
“We really need to be at our best,” Dagorne said. “We need to perform.”
Dagorne said the competition would be intense this year, with Olympic qualification races starting at the end of the year, and with the Chinese national team getting even stronger, having hired a highly capable new coach and already showing strong results at the Perth round of the three-leg UCI Track World Cup series.
The Frenchman added that Japan remained a major contender and other countries could also deliver surprises.

The Middle East situation prevented some teams from getting to Perth, but those squads were expected to return for the Hong Kong event, Dagorne said, further raising the level of competition.
