Hong Kong runners hit the track to raise funds for Tai Po victims
HK$500,000 already raised for Wang Fuk Court support fund in Lap Dog Challenge at Stanley Ho Sports Centre

Runners completed laps of the track at Stanley Ho Sports Centre in Hong Kong’s Sandy Bay on Saturday to help raise funds for victims of the Tai Po fire tragedy.
Those jogging to chalk up the laps were drawn from various construction companies and were taking part in the 10th anniversary edition of the Lap Dog Challenge.
The challenge typically focuses on supporting those connected with the construction industry who are victims of accidents and ill health.

This year, money was raised for the government’s support fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, where a fire that broke out on November 26 claimed at least 159 lives and left an estimated 4,000 people homeless.
An initial HK$500,000 was pledged for Tai Po, while funds were also raised for the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation and the Lighthouse Club Hong Kong Benevolent Fund.
The Lighthouse Club is a charity that supports those in need in the construction industry.
