Nick Kyrgios and Aryna Sabalenka will go head to head in a Battle of the Sexes in Dubai in December, and not in Hong Kong as originally thought, the Post has learned.

A clash between the two global stars had been rumoured to be set for Hong Kong in January, just before the Australian Open, but that has now changed, with December 28 floated as a potential date for the match.

And when talking to the Post while in Hong Kong to attend the Prudential NextGen Aces event, world No 1 Sabalenka put her opponent on notice for a match she said was “gonna be tough for Nick”.

“The Battle of the Sexes, it’s gonna be fun,” Sabalenka said during the interview at the Regent Hong Kong hotel. “He [Kyrgios] had better go and practise now.

“Nick is already nervous. Actually, I saw him just this morning. I put some pressure on him. I told him that Novak [Djokovic] is preparing me for the battle, he gave me some advice, and you’d better go practise.”

In response, Kyrgios jokingly questioned why he should be scared of Sabalenka “having a coach that I’ve got a positive record against”.
