- Poland keep their perfect record intact with a hard-fought victory over Turkey later on Thursday evening
Canada’s Hilary Howe wants the “perfect birthday gift” when her team take on Turkey at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Hong Kong on Friday.
After easing past Bulgaria in straight sets on Thursday for their third win this season, Canada are already just one win away from tying their record number of victories in the tournament.
Against Bulgaria, it was never in doubt for the world No 13 side at the Hong Kong Coliseum, as they walked away with a convincing 25-15, 25-13, 25-15 win in just 75 minutes.
“Our team is improving every match, we are working really well together and finding good rhythms,” said Howe, who notched 13 points to finish two behind top scorer Kiera Van Ryk, and will turn 25 on Friday. “I am really excited we got the win [on Thursday], and for the games to come.”
Canada, who are playing in their second consecutive Nations League since making their debut in 2021, arrived in Hong Kong with two wins from four games in Turkey.
