First up, Haughey claimed second place in the 100-metre freestyle narrowly trailing Australia’s Emma McKeon and ahead of her Energy Standard teammate Sarah Sjostrom. McKeon returned in 51.05 seconds, just 0.11 off Haughey’s league record time of 50.94.

Later, Haughey dominated her pet event, the 200m free in which she won Olympic silver last month, flashing home a full two and a half seconds clear of Paige Madden in second place to claim maximum points for her team. Haughey remains the only swimmer to go under 1:53 in the event during 2021.

Energy Standard won the match ahead of London Roar in second and LA Current in third. The Tokyo Frog Kings finished fourth.

Haughey was ranked seventh on the match MVP standings. Her teammate Ilya Shymanovich took out the men’s 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke events – narrowly missing his own world record in the 100 – to claim MVP honours.
