Hong Kong boosted their hopes of further medals at the Paralympic Games after registering mixed results in boccia in Rio de Janeiro.

The mixed team of Kwok Hoi-ying, Leung Mei-yee, John Loung and Yeung Hiu-lam will face Argentina in the quarter-finals after registering one win and a defeat in the group stage.

Hong Kong suffered a narrow 5-4 defeat by hosts Brazil at the start of their boccia (BC1) campaign, but bounced back to cruise to a comfortable 6-3 win over Spain at Carioca Arena 2.
