Kitchee do demolition job on Rangers

Kitchee's 5-0 demolition job on BC Rangers at Kowloon Bay Park yesterday appears to have made it a question of when, rather than if, they will be crowned champions of the inaugural BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League.

With just four matches left, Kitchee lead Eastern by three points and have a better count-back record against their major title challengers. And they also face only teams in the bottom half of the table in their remaining fixtures.

Kitchee captain Lo Kwan-yee was disappointed by his players' attitude in their recent 1-0 League Cup semi-final win over Wong Tai Sin, but had no room for complaints yesterday.

"We had a much better fighting spirit today, with the boys eager to create chances and attempts on goal. Maybe my chat to them after that match did the trick," said the Hong Kong international.

"The league title should not be a big problem, I would say, but of course we cannot take things for granted. In fact, we have to play at the compact Sham Shui Po and Hammer Hill Sport Grounds in the coming matches, which may pose some difficulties."
