Runners had a fun day out in Friday's HKLRRC Boxing Day Race at Wan Chai Gap with most of the participants dressed up in costumes and braving the chilly weather.
The festive run is seen as the ideal way to burn off some of the over-indulgence of Christmas Day, and has been staged annually for more than 30 years.
Several families took on the challenge, one featuring three generations with three generations running from one particular family.

The runners, starting and finishing at Wan Chai Gap, took in a lap of Middle Gap Road and Black’s Link, a loop of some 4km in cool and breezy conditions.
Former champion Ho Hoi-to won the men’s race, but was followed by a fast-closing Erin Brown, who for the second year in a row placed second overall from the 350 starters and first in the women’s race. School teacher Ho was accompanied by 20 of his students, and was delighted to see Lau Chau-wai cross the line in third place overall in the men’s race.
“It was very good to see so many people supporting today’s race, particularly as the weather was not so pleasant,” said Sheila Purves, one of the organisers.
“It was particularly good to see so many families taking part and encouraging one another to do well.”
