Sarit Suwannarut is chasing his third Asian Tour title, Brett Rnkin and Ding Wenyi are hunting down their first, and the SJM Macau Open is all set for an exciting finish on Sunday.
Three shots clear at the start of the day, Sarit’s four-under-par 66 took him to 16-under overall, two ahead of Rankin, who carded a 64, and another stroke clear of Ding after the Chinese player’s 65.
The trio will trade blows in the final group at Macau Golf and Country Club, although Sarit’s experience could prove decisive if he can control his nerves, that is.
Three clear at the turn in Saturday’s final round, the Thai golfer, whose last win was at the Volvo China Open in 2023, held off Rankin’s charge over the back nine, which had them level at 14 under with four holes to play.
“I would say some nerves got into me,” said Sarit, who birdied 16 and 18 to pull clear. “I am pretty excited to play good golf again. I mean, I wanted to really, really play good golf today. And I think I did it pretty well.”
“I will try to stay as positive as possible tomorrow. I’ll try to focus on what I have to do. Try to commit to the shot and hit it and stay aggressive. That’s all I’m going to do tomorrow.”

Playing his first full season on the Asian Tour, Rankin, who bogeyed 17 but bounced back with a birdie at 18, has yet to manage a top-10 finish but felt his six-under round was the best he had felt all tournament.
“It was a lot more complete than the first two days,” Rankin said. “I drove the ball great, my iron play was really good today and my wedge game was a lot better than the first two days.
“I played well, so sort of ticking all the boxes at the moment tee to green, on the greens and around the greens. So usually when I’m doing that, I’m shooting good scores.”
Taichi Kho fired a 67 to sit at seven under, with Hong Kong teammate Matthew Cheung two shots back, alongside American John Catlin and defending champion Rattanon Wannasrichan.
