LIV Golf heads to Japan for first time with International Series event

LIV Golf will make its first foray into Japan in May, after adding another stop to this year’s International Series.
Among the players from the Saudi-backed league already committed to competing in the event are Harold Varner III and Lucas Herbert.
The tournament at Caledonian Golf Club will take place the week after LIV Golf Korea, and will mark the Asian Tour’s first return to the country since the Diamond Cup three years ago.
Made up of 10 elevated tournaments on the Tour, the series forms part of the pathway to LIV, and as well as a strong contingent from the regional circuit, players from Japan and around the world are expected to be in the 156-man field.

“Japan is one of the most dynamic golf markets in the world and International Series Japan will be a true milestone, marking our first event in this exciting new territory and a significant step for the LIV Golf ecosystem,” Ross Hallett, EVP Head of Events, LIV Golf, said.
