Tiffany Chan Tsz-ching recovered from a tricky second round to climb back up the leader board at the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic in Wisconsin on Saturday.

The Hong Kong ace signed for a five-under-par 67 in round three to boost her back up the standings into a tie for 13th, just six shots off the lead, which is shared between three players, including China’s Feng Shanshan.

The 25-year-old’s card was almost blemish free – just one bogey on the par-five 15th hole, but it was the six birdies that put the Hongkonger back in the running to land the best result – and biggest paycheque – of her young professional career.

Chan struggled to a 71 on Friday, which saw her drop to 20th on the leader board, and undid much of the good work she did in round one, after which she shared a tie for sixth place. She recovered well on Saturday, showing more of her Thursday form.

Chan gets her final round under way at 3.05am on Monday (Hong Kong time).
