Hong Kong coach blasts ‘disgusting’ treatment, women forced to change in men’s toilet
Women’s football head coach Ricardo Rambo lets rip ahead of Hong Kong’s clash with Guangdong in the 7th Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup

Women’s head coach Ricardo Rambo was already annoyed at the venue for his side’s 7th Hong Kong-Guangdong Cup match, and then he saw the dressing room.
While the Hong Kong men’s team took on their mainland Chinese rivals at Hong Kong Stadium on Sunday, their female counterparts were sent to the backwaters of Kowloon Bay Park, and, to add insult to injury, were forced to use the men’s toilet to get changed in.
The fiery head coach, who has not shied away from taking his Football Association of Hong Kong, China, to task in the past, let his feelings be known in an explosive post on X, accompanied by a picture of players’ kit on a table in front of dirty urinals.
Under the heading “Equal oportunities (sic)? Equal treatment??? Disgusting!”, Rambo posted the picture and the comment: “Is this a proper women’s representative team changing room for an important home cup game.”
He added his own reply: ‘Refere (sic) to previous post: Equal???”
Three days ago, Rambo had also taken to social media to question whether his side was getting the support it deserved from the HKFA.
In a post on X highlighting his side’s run of six wins in their past 11 matches this year, Rambo said it had been a “journey of hard work and determination”.
