South Korea, Japan considering ‘not impossible’ joint bid for 2035 men’s football Asian Cup
Official says plans are at early stage and would first have to be approved by governments of both nations, which co-hosted 2022 World Cup

South Korea and Japan are mulling a bid to co-host the 2035 men’s Asian Cup, an official said Friday, joining forces again after staging the World Cup in 2002.
A Korea Football Association official said that the country’s football chiefs were considering various options and co-hosting with Japan was “one possible strategy”.
“At this stage, joint hosting is not impossible,” the official said, noting that plans were still at an early stage and would first have to be approved by both governments.
The Japan Football Association said it was “conducting various studies” around a possible bid.
“We are considering bidding for the Asian Cup and it is true that we have discussed co-hosting with South Korea and other countries as one option,” a JFA official said.

“However, nothing concrete has been decided yet and we will let you know when we officially launch our bid.”
