Fans in Hong Kong will be the first to catch a glimpse of Liverpool’s new big-money signing Hugo Ekitike, and could see him make his debut at a sold-out Kai Tak Stadium on Saturday.

The Reds confirmed the French striker’s transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt for an estimated US$112 million on Wednesday.

They added that he would be flying straight to Hong Kong to join his teammates on their pre-season tour the following day.

Liverpool will take on AC Milan as part of the Hong Kong Football Festival at the new 50,000-capacity venue in Kai Tak, where the Reds will also hold an open training session for fans on Thursday.

The club are still waiting on international clearance before the 23-year-old Ekitike takes the field.

But supporters in Hong Kong can certainly expect to spot their new idol in club colours during the Reds’ appearances at the festival, which will also see Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur next Thursday.
