With the legendary football rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi winding down, fans are not quite ready to let go.
For 20 years, the duo have been the top two in the men’s game and supporters are so desperate for their rivalry to continue that they are trying to get their sons to do battle.
Social media was awash with reports Cristiano Junior had given his father the perfect birthday present with 10 goals in a 10-9 victory for Al Nassr’s under-15s over Al Ittihad.
This was reported to have come on the back of a remarkable seven-goal haul in a 7-0 win over Al Hilal.
And, just a few days later, Thiago Messi achieved even better, reportedly hitting the back of the net 11 times in a 12-0 victory for Inter Miami’s U13s at Atlanta. Just incredible.
