Fantasy Premier League: dropping Palmer makes no sense, with crucial weeks coming up
It’s Gameweek 23, and three of the top six play teams battling relegation. Goals galore beckon for Mo Salah, Alexander Isak and Palmer
It is a little too early to say the Premier League has reached the business end of the season, but the next few weeks for the world’s fantasy managers could be crucial.
This week, three of the top six are in action against teams fighting to avoid relegation. Following that, Gameweek 24 will be a Double Gameweek, plus there is the launch of the new Assistant Manager chip.
So, with that in mind here are the best transfers, tips and line-up suggestions for Gameweek 23 in the Fantasy Premier League.
Gameweek 22 review
Gameweek 22 in FPL was a dull affair for most, with big players Mohamed Salah (£13.7m), Cole Palmer (£11.3m) and Alexander Isak (£9.5m) scoring a pitiful seven points between them.
However, this weekend league leaders Liverpool host Ipswich, who conceded six to Manchester City last time out, and Newcastle travel to Southampton. Finally, Palmer will return to his old club when Chelsea face Man City, so I’m predicting big points for those three players this weekend.
The FPL community might not agree with that, with Palmer being the most transferred-out midfielder this week. A potential differential? I think so.
I don’t understand why almost 200,000 managers have opted to sell him. Before Before his blank against Wolves on Monday, he got 20 points in two games, takes penalties and has decent fixtures until Gameweek 29.
Also, in Gameweek 29, Chelsea’s game against Leicester will go ahead, but four teams will not play because of the League Cup final. For me, Palmer is a hold.
