Plymouth stun Brentford in FA Cup, Walker quitting City, Alexander-Arnold answers critics

So, you’ve bought yourself a Premier League football club, you’re feeling good about the decision you’ve made, the only issue is the manager just isn’t really cutting it. Simple answer, sack the guy and get in someone qualified to lift your struggling team out of trouble before moving to a new ground next season.

Sounds easy enough, unless of course you’re The Friedkin Group and your idea of an upgrade on Sean Dyche is David Moyes, who is a better bet in the same way Windows 10 was a good update for your computer.
With the FA Cup third round this weekend, and Everton already having beaten Peterborough on Thursday, Moyes has a couple of days before his first Premier League game in charge against Aston Villa at home on Wednesday.
On the pitch though, this weekend has been all about the magic of the cup. Although there is precious little of it about, Plymouth managed to keep the competition alive for the romantics among us, so that’s where we’ll start this look at what happened while you were sleeping.

No cup buzz for Bees

The FA Cup has not been a happy hunting ground for Brentford boss Thomas Frank, whose best result since he took over was making it to the fifth round in 2018.
