As usual, most of Saturday’s action was centred around the football.

We had dropped points from English Premier League title challengers, Germany’s final unbeaten record falling, while one was preserved at the death in Italy.

So let’s get right to it: here’s a rundown of what happened while you were sleeping.

Challengers falter

Liverpool, down to 10 men after just 16 minutes, twice came from behind against Fulham, but ultimately had to settle for a 2-2 draw, as they dropped points for just the fourth time this season.

Already trailing to Andreas Pereira’s opener, things got worse for the hosts at Anfield as Andy Robertson was given his marching orders for preventing a goal scoring opportunity.

However, Cody Gakpo equalised just after half-time before Rodrigo Muniz restored Fulham’s lead with 15 minutes remaining.

But it was Diogo Jota who had the final say, as he made it 2-2 on 86 minutes.

The result leaves Liverpool just five points ahead of Chelsea, who could cut the gap to two when the host Brentford later on Sunday.
