FPL Gameweek 6: Wild card week? Erling Haaland’s strike partners, best budget midfielders
With five weeks under their belts, managers are getting a feel for the season ahead – so is now the time to rip up and start again?
Premier League football is back, almost seven days on from when we last saw it, and after a week of League Cup and Uefa Europa League action as well as no Monday game, it’s about as long a break as we’ll see this season.
So that means ever so slightly more thinking time for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers.
And here are a few things to consider as we head into Gameweek 6.
Wild card week?
It’s always a pressure situation knowing when to use the opportunity to completely overhaul your team. Injuries, suspensions and shock results will always make you question your decision.
But hindsight is a wonderful thing. Looking ahead, however, this could be a good time to just go for it.
Five weeks in and patterns are developing, while it’s clear which sides have the strongest defence and who has Erling Haaland in attack.
If you don’t have many Arsenal players in your team, now is the time to change that with a friendly looking run of fixtures to come, starting with the visit of winless Leicester City to the Emirates on Saturday.
Top-scoring defender Gabriel (£6.1m) followed up his 15 points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with seven at the Etihad in the 2-2 draw with City, scoring in both.
City were the first team to score against 11-man Arsenal this season with the only other goals conceded coming after early red cards.
