The business end of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 begins on Sunday in the United Arab Emirates.
Three games kick off the round of 16 action, including an appearance for tournament favourites Iran.
It is the surprise package of the group stage that start us off.
Jordan, the first team to make it through to the knockout stage, take on Vietnam in Dubai’s
Al Maktoum Stadium for a quarter-final match against Japan or Saudi Arabia.
Yasen Bakheet has been one of the key men in Jordan’s unexpected rise and the winger will need to be at his best against Vietnam.


The winners of group B take on a team that qualified as one of the four best third-placed teams and Vietnam only made it through because of their cleaner disciplinary record than Lebanon.
They will not mind that as it takes them to a second consecutive knockouts but neither nation has won an Asian Cup knockout game, although Jordan did reach the quarters in the old format.
That will change tonight and Vietnam will need their star Nguyen Quang Hai to shine if they are to go on.

The youngest side at the tournament is led by captain Que Ngoc Hai and the defender could have another busy afternoon in store in Dubai with Jordan’s Musa Al-Taamari, who has been involved in each of the side’s goals.
Jordan are the favourites at $1.83 with Vietnam at $5.20. The draw at 90 minutes is $3.5 when extra time and penalties await.
The game kicks off at 7pm (Hong Kong time) and is live on Fox Sports 2 (channel 671).

Thailand have righted their course since losing their opening game 4-1 to India and came through as runners-up in group A. China finished group C the same way but had qualified after two wins from their opening two games before losing to South Korea.
Star striker Wu Lei missed that game after being rested because of a shoulder injury and his reappearance is key for Marcello Lippi’s side.
Wu scored both goals last time these teams met in a friendly last June.

For Thailand, a good game from playmaker Chanathip Songkrasin is vital as are the chances provided by marauding wing back Tristan Do.
Whoever endures will face the winner of the later Oman-Iran clash.
Thailand are $5.05 to win, China are heavy favourites at $1.87 and the draw is $3.4 0.
The action from Al Ain’s Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium begins at 10pm and is live on Fox Sports 2 (channel 671).

Our final game of the night sees the highest ranked team in the tournament take on Oman. Iran cruised through to the knockouts with two wins from two before a goalless draw against Iraq on match day three kept them top of group D.
Oman came through as the second best of the third-placed teams thanks to a match day three win over Turkmenistan.
Carlos Queiroz has spoken of the need to take Oman seriously but this is a mismatch on paper with Iran stacked with stars such as Ashkan Dejagah, who is on fine form in the UAE.

Oman played valiantly in their two losses but Iran have been freescoring, including Sardar Azmoun who has scored three goals in three games.
Iran are $4 to win the tournament and that is reflected in the odds for tonight’s game, one where they will know their quarter-final opponents before it starts.
Team Meili are priced at $1.44 for the win compared to Oman at $11 and a draw at $4.40.
