Media reports in Chile claimed the Reds are set to take part in a triangular event involving Chilean side Colo Colo and new Chinese Super League champions Shanghai SIPG next summer.

Liverpool are among a group of English clubs which have adopted a commercial strategy of alternating their off-season tours to the United States and the Far East in recent seasons.
Liverpool’s primary club sponsor Standard Chartered has Asia headquarters in Hong Kong and is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Chilean outlet La Tercera reported that negotiations are well underway between the three clubs and MG Motors, Colo Colo’s main sponsor and one of Liverpool’s secondary sponsors who are now based in Shanghai, as the car manufacturer seeks to boost its profile in China.
