Cincinnati Open: Hong Kong’s Wong halted, China’s Yuan sleeps on sofa after shock call
Wong meets his match in France’s Ugo Humbert, but Yuan Yue makes most of last-minute reprieve

Hong Kong No 1 Coleman Wong Chak-lam suffered a straight-sets loss to Frenchman Ugo Humbert in the second round of the Cincinnati Open on Saturday.
The two fought out a close match, with each player holding serve at 40-30 four times in the first set.
Ranked No 25 in the world, Humbert got the first set’s decisive break point in the fourth game, again winning after leading 40-30.
Humbert immediately broke Wong again in the first game of the second set, but the world No 177 showed spirit, holding two games to love before failing to convert a break point that would have brought the match level at 4-4.
The Frenchman completed a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Seven-time ATP Tour title winner Humbert will play the United States’ Frances Tiafoe, the tournament’s No 10 seed, in the next round.
