Chen Luyu, once hailed as “China’s Oprah”, has been found to bear a striking resemblance to Marianne, the female embodiment of the French Republic, on the emblem of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The broadcaster’s iconic on-screen image features a sleek side part bob cut, neatly trimmed in delicate, face-framing layers, which exudes an air of poise and professionalism.

This juxtaposition led internet users to humorously dub Chen as the “ambassador” for Paris Olympics audiences.

Chen herself responded, saying: “Even I am brainwashed.”

People playfully created meme-inspired remixes, such as seamlessly photoshopping the logo onto the scene of Chen’s interviews covering her head, with the host’s signature catchphrase: “Really? I don’t believe it,” in French.
