Playing against Taipei Taishin Mars in the newly formed Taiwan Professional Basketball League, the New Taipei Kings point guard was hit in the head in the opening minutes of the first quarter.

He was left with a “three-inch wound” to the left side of his head, and needed a stitch after the match.

Lin returned to action after getting running repairs courtside, and finished the game with 13 points, seven rebounds and nine assists as the Kings notched up a 102-89 win to extend their winning streak to five matches.

“We were here to play basketball, not to hit people, it’s essential for referees to protect players,” said a visibly upset Lin at the post-match press conference. “I just want to play healthily, I just want to play well.”
