The sixth edition of Women of Hope (WOH) Fundraiser Luncheon 2019 will honour women in various industries and raise public awareness for the HKAHF’s Cancer Fund.
Created by the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation in 2014, WOH is a campaign that raises awareness for HKAHF’s Cancer Fund. Members of the public are now invited to cast their votes online to support their favourite nominees among a group of outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to society through their professional careers and activism.

Last year, the campaign received an astounding 44,000 votes for all award categories. By honouring influential women who champion the call for social justice, the foundation aims to spread a message of hope and love to the community at large.
WOH consists of eight categories–art and culture, champion for a better life, children’s advocate, eco-warrior, entrepreneur, global champion, health advocate, as well as power and influence–to recognise the remarkable work carried out by inspirational women across different fields and industries.

You can choose to vote in any category, or all of the eight categories. Biographies of the nominees can be found on the voting website.
The eight winners will be announced at the WOH Fundraiser Luncheon on May 17, 2019 at the JW Marriott, Hong Kong. All proceeds raised from the luncheon will be used to expand the work and reach of the HKAHF’s Cancer Fund, providing free scans, diagnosis and cancer treatment to adults and children in need.
The Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation was established in 1999 with the aim of providing timely medical treatment to the underprivileged in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Asia. In 2010, it expanded its charitable endeavour to Nepal to offer otological surgery for local children and adults. WOH is one of the foundation’s initiatives to rally public support for its Cancer Fund in the hope that more people can benefit from these free services.

In just a few years, WOH has grown from a small gathering to a large-scale event attended by more than 330 guests. Last year’s event alone raised over HK$5.3 million to enable the Cancer Fund to provide free PET/CT and MRI scans, breast screenings and treatment services to patients who lack the financial means and access to medical care.
