Fifty years is a remarkable achievement for any institution. I am honoured and delighted to be part of Lingnan University on its Golden Jubilee.

Over the years, Lingnan University has evolved from a post-secondary college with 100 students to a top-10 liberal arts institution in Asia. Through this arduous journey, the goals of the University remain the same: providing the best whole-person education to young people who serve the needs of the society and the world. 

Today, Lingnan University has a distinctive edge in the local and regional higher education landscape, nurturing outstanding leaders and responsible citizens for the society. Their achievements and contributions truly affirm the value of a liberal arts education.

The University’s achievements were not built overnight. I thank all those who have helped shape the University, and deeply believe that all the Lingnanians will join hands to ensure that the University continues to flourish and serve the society for the next 50 years and beyond.
