City University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University are going beyond boundaries to launch Asia’s first EMBA+MPA programmes. The aim is to develop leaders who excel in both business administration and public administration.

In January 2016, the two universities, together with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) signed an agreement in Geneva, Switzerland to advance Public Private Partnerships (PPP) within China’s Belt-and-Road initiative. After that, City University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University established PPP research centres in Hong Kong and Beijing.

The EMBA+MPA programmes cover business administration and public administration courses offered by City University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University. The programmes also feature a PPP module with a visit to the UNECE in Geneva and an overseas capstone project to a Belt-and-Road country.

The programmes are 2-year part-time, with Mandarin as the language medium. Prospective learning partners are expected to take classes in both Beijing and Hong Kong on a monthly basis. The first cohort will begin in February 2019. The programmes are accepting applications now.
