At Hong Kong’s Prohibition restaurant, indulge in ‘speakeasy’ pleasures
- Grill house at Ocean Park Marriott on Hong Kong’s Southside offers fitting selections of steaks, roasts and seafood

As the name suggests, Prohibition evokes 1920s America – a decade of economic prosperity and cultural dynamism, but also a time when alcohol was banned which produced an underworld of secret bars or “speakeasies”. The interior reflects the era with a mix of wood, metal and brick, leather booths and chairs and a curtained “secret” lounge next to the bar to enjoy cocktails.

The menu offers a selection of seafood and steaks. The 28-day dry-aged USDA prime bone-in rib-eye or the Australian M5 Wagyu porterhouse are for sharing. There is whole sea bass, Boston lobster and lamb rack, spit roasts and pasta. Classic desserts including New York cheesecake and flamed Alaska are amazing.
