(Hong Kong – 24 September 2024) Dr Lui Che-woo, Chairman of K. Wah Group, celebrated his 95th birthday with a grand gala dinner in Hong Kong. Hosted by his five children - Mr Francis Lui, Mr Lawrence Lui, Mr Alexander Lui, Ms Paddy Lui and Ms Eileen Lui - the event welcomed luminaries from political, business, education sectors, etc., along with family members, friends and senior K. Wah employees.

The dinner theme “zhen” (珍), combining “twelve” (十二) on the left and “eighty three” (八三) on the right to represent Dr Lui’s age of 95, celebrated his precious years and life wisdom. The venue, adorned with nostalgic elements such as neon lights, shop signs and old photos, was glamourous yet warm, reflecting respect and well wishes for Dr Lui.

In his welcome speech, Mr Francis Lui, Dr Lui’s eldest son, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the guests and shared cherished moments he had with and the precious advice from his father. Then, five families of the second generation of the Lui family narrated Dr Lui’s brilliant life stories, highlighting marriage, family, career, friends and philanthropy. AI technology transformed old photos into videos, providing guests with an emotional journey through Dr Lui’s extraordinary yet well-grounded life.

Dr Lui Che-woo, dressed in traditional Chinese attire and in fine fettle, addressed the guests to thunderous applauses.
