Faiveley Transport, a long-term railway partner in China

China has become a major player in the global railway sector, with a transport network surpassing Europe's in size. To better serve its Chinese customers in terms of responsiveness, products and costs, Faiveley Transport, the French global supplier of engineering solutions for the railway industry, opened a China division in 2014 to supplement its product-based and services divisions. The division has approximately 1,000 employees in six operating companies across the mainland.
A family-owned and publicly listed company, Faiveley Transport has specialised for nearly a century in the design, manufacturing and marketing of a wide range of systems for all train-related market segments globally, from platform screen doors, access doors and braking systems to pantographs, event recorders and heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
The group also provides maintenance, retrofits and spares that enable customers to optimise the availability and life-cycle cost of its products.
Faiveley Transport has supplied some of the mainland's largest metro rail systems, including the Harbin, Guangzhou, Changchun, Wuhan, Shanghai and Beijing metros, and Hong Kong's MTR. It also has a strong presence in the locomotives segment in six-axle and eight-axle generations, and is positioning itself in the growing high-speed rail market with braking systems for new high-speed platforms undergoing homologation.
Serving the domestic market, Faiveley Transport is well-positioned to accompany China Railway Rolling Stock Corp (CRRC), the world's largest train builder, as it expands beyond the mainland. Faiveley Group announced that it will equip CRRC's new Boston metro cars with its air conditioning units, thus supporting the Chinese rolling stock manufacturer in its first project in the United States.
