Strongly committed to the comprehensive protection of the environment, Australia has adopted more stringent environmental standards and conservation policies.
This is underpinned by improving industry compliance that is supported by innovative solutions from specialised companies such as Pacific Environment.
With more than 30 years of scientific excellence, Pacific Environment has remained at the forefront of proactive environmental management. This is underlined by the launch in December last year of EnviroSuite 2.0, a scalable environmental monitoring, analysis and reporting platform. "We envision EnviroSuite becoming the global 'Internet of Things' platform for the environmental sector," says CEO Peter White, who led the company's performance turnaround in the past two years.
Delivering real-time and forecast environmental data, be it air quality, noise or wind speed, the web-based EnviroSuite 2.0 enables users to maximise operational efficiencies and prevent environmental issues from arising.
EnviroSuite 2.0 is distributed over the cloud via Amazon Web Services, making it accessible to users worldwide.
The technology has myriad applications within the resources, heavy industrial, construction, agriculture and health care sectors, with key clients including Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Anglo American, Pacific Aluminium and Origin Energy.
"We see vast application potential for EnviroSuite in Asia, particularly China, which faces growing environmental concerns," White says. "We are keen on establishing strong distribution channels to accelerate the software's international adoption."
Formed from the union of four separate environmental consultancies, Pacific Environment's expertise encompasses air quality, monitoring, toxicology, automated reporting and predictive management solutions.
The Australian Securities Exchange-listed consultancy has diversified to more practice areas through strategic acquisitions, the most recent being Waste Solutions Australia.
Through its strong platform for growth, its client base has gone beyond Australia to New Zealand, the United States, Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe.
"To further advance our growth, we are looking to acquire companies in aligned environmental technological areas that would complement our domain expertise," White says.
