Asia’s robust residential, agricultural and industrial developments drive demand for water-pump solutions. Asia Automatic Pump – Taiwan’s pioneer in producing domestic auto booster pumps, fire-fighting pumps and inverter-controlled booster pump sets – is gearing to expand its foothold in Southeast Asia and targets increasing export sales from 10 per cent to 20 per cent year-on-year.

“More local players in the water pump business are catering to middle- and high-class market segments. We offer higher quality products with superior life cycle costs,” says managing director Hu Shin-an.

Asia Automatic Pump is Taiwan’s first pump manufacturer to acquire factory certifications from the International Organisation for Standardisation and Chinese National Standards. In 2013, it allocated US$700,000 to develop its diesel engine generator set (genset) and obtained laboratory certification from Taiwan Accreditation Foundation last year. To increase production capacity, the company will expand and automate its assembly line and laboratory scale of diesel engine gensets.

The company manufactures various types of water pumps for domestic, industrial, construction project, wastewater treatment and machinery applications. Its brand name EVERGUSH has more than 50 different model types and more than 4,000 pump specifications. To further drive sales, the company invested US$9.5 million for its six-storey EVERGUSH facility estimated for completion by the end of next year. The process is also under way for the certification of EVERGUSH electric motors and pumps.
