Miley Cyrus is assuring fans she is safe following a harrowing flight incident.
The singer, 29, shared Wednesday morning on social media that her plane was struck by lightning as she travelled to Asunción, Paraguay, after a Monday show in Bogotá, Colombia.
A short video clip on her Instagram showed a bright light flashing outside the plane’s windows as passengers gasped and shouted. The plane’s exterior had some visible damage in a subsequent photo.
“To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción. Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram.
“My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing. We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. I LOVE YOU.”
