“I think he should resign,” Biden said, affirming the position he staked out in the spring when allegations began to surface against the three-term Democratic governor. “I understand the state Legislature may decide to impeach. I don’t know that for a fact.”
Biden added he had not yet read James’ report.
Biden’s remarks were part of a deluge of new calls for Cuomo’s resignation or impeachment that came on Tuesday after the release of the report. The investigation directed by New York Attorney General Letitia James found that Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women, including an executive assistant whose breasts and buttocks he groped and a state trooper on his detail he touched inappropriately. The report concluded the governor broke state and federal laws.
